Jocurile Olimpice: Marea Britanie anuleaza suspendarea pe viata pentru sportivii dopati
Comitetul olimpic britanic (BOA) a anulat joi sanctiunea de suspendare pe viata de la Jocurile Olimpice pentru sportivii sai depistati pozitivi, aliniindu-se codului Agentiei mondiale anti-doping (AMA) dupa ce a pierdut speta la Tribunalul de Arbitraj pentru Sport (TAS). Apelul AMA impotriva sanctiunii impuse de comitetul olimpic britanic a avut castig de cauza pe 30 aprilie la TAS, care s-a pronuntat in aprilie impotriva suspendarii pe viata. Comitetul olimpic britanic se aliniaza astfel codului global anti-doping al AMA, care are in aceste zile un comitet executiv la Montreal. Decizia permite acum unor sportivi ca sprinterul Dwain Chambers si ciclistul David Millar, care au ispasit suspendari de 2 ani pentru doping, sa fie eligibili pentru JO 2012.
Fotbal: Euro 2012 - Polonia este pregatita
Polonia, tara care organizeaza Euro 2012 de fotbal impreuna cu Ucraina (8 iunie-1 iulie), este ''pregatita'' sa gazduiasca evenimentul, cu trei saptamani inaintea loviturii de incepere, a declarat joi ministrul Sporturilor, Joanna Mucha. Campionatul European de fotbal se desfasoara pentru prima data in Europa de Est, in Polonia si Ucraina. Cele doua tari, care nu dispuneau de infrastructuri la fel de avansate ca precedentele tari organizatoare din Europa de Vest, au trebuit sa duca la sfarsit cu bine numeroasele lucrari. Polonia va gazdui 12 meciuri din primul tur, adica jumatate, intre care meciul de deschidere (Polonia-Grecia), la Varsovia, pe 8 iunie, doua sferturi de finala si o semifinala. Finala se va disputa la Kiev, in Ucraina, pe 1 iulie.
Natatie: CE de sarituri - Medalie de aur pentru francezul Matthieu Rosset
Francezul Matthieu Rosset a cucerit joi medalia de aur in proba de trambulina 3 m din cadrul Campionatelor Europene de sarituri in apa de la Eindhoven, cu 504 puncte.Medalia de argint a revenit germanului Patrick Hausding - 502,75 pct, in timp ce rusul Ilia Zaharov si-a adjudecat bronzul - 493,80 pct. In intrecerea feminina, Marea Britanie (Tonia Couch/Sarah Barrow) a intrat in posesia titlului continental in proba de sarituri sincron de la trambulina de 10 m, cu 319,56 pct. Medalia de argint a fost castigata de Ucraina - 310,68 pct, in timp ce bronzul a fost cucerit de Germania - 303,93 pct. AGERPRES
